Manufacturing

Our lawyers have significant experience helping manufacturers meet the challenges they face, including those posed by recent economic conditions and globalization.  We work closely with tax advisors in corporate formations and structurings.  We provide business and legal counseling in commercial transactions, such as supply agreements, transportation and logistics arrangements and sourcing transactions.  Although our firm does not handle litigation or arbitration matters, we provide counseling with respect to possible disputes and we work closely with in-house and outside litigation attorneys.  Our lawyers work closely with intellectual property lawyers to help our clients understand and resolve issues as to ownership of and rights to use patents, copyrights, trademarks and trade secrets.  For example, we represented a large apparel manufacturer in disputes with Asian affiliates over branding and licensing issues, and currently represent a US manufacturer in a dispute with a former affiliate over the use of the affiliate’s name and manufacturing know-how.
