Dennis Zakas focuses his practice in the capital markets field and concentrates on mergers and acquisitions, global capital markets, including public and private securities offerings, corporate governance, joint ventures and complex commercial transactions. His experience spans the technology, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, manufacturing, distribution, transportation, logistics and real estate industries.

Zakas represents issuers, venture capitalists and angel investors in financings, including floatations on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange. He also represents private equity funds, sponsors, strategic buyers and sellers in leveraged buyout transactions and other complex M&A transactions. He also has experience representing numerous technology companies and growth companies as outside general counsel and in a variety of transactions, including venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions and technology licenses. Additionally, he represents larger companies in joint ventures, business process and information technology outsourcings and other complex commercial transactions.  Zakas has considerable experience advising clients in complex, unusual, challenging and/or financially-distressed situations. His unique perspective results from representing a wide range of clients – from Fortune 50 to early stage – in a wide variety of industries, in a broad range of transactions.

Zakas has been listed in Best Lawyers in America for many years and has frequently been named a Mergers & Acquisitions Super Lawyer by Atlanta Magazine.  Zakas is a member of the Board of Directors of  the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG).  He was named a 2005 TAG Volunteer of the Year for his role in founding and chairing the Georgia Technology Summit. He also founded TAG’s Top 40/10 Innovative Companies Award and continues to chair the Top 40/10 Committee.  He was recognized by TAG for his contributions at the 2010 Georgia Technology Summit.  Zakas is Georgia Co-chair of the Society of International Business Fellows (SIBF), and has served as Counsel of SIBF.  He is also a member of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG).
